As Managing Director of Investment Research at Paul Comstock Partners, Marc Shmerling came to Comstock with a deep-rooted background spanning over 15 years in the finance industry. He specializes in the development of innovative investment solutions tailored to client’s diverse needs. His comprehensive expertise includes quantitative analysis, equity analysis, and the strategic development of complex portfolio models. Marc’s approach combines rigorous quantitative research and sophisticated risk management, supported by his proficiency in tools such as Bloomberg and FactSet. His role at Paul Comstock Partners involves not only steering investment strategies but also fostering a culture of innovation and integrity within the investment management sector.
Previously at Invesco, Ltd., Marc played a significant role in the founding and expansion of the Investment Solutions Group, managing or advising assets upward of $150B. His leadership was crucial in the launching of the model portfolio business, pioneering the target date strategy utilized in the Rhode Island CollegeBound 529 Plan, managing the target risk allocation lineup along with the liquidity sleeve of a $1.1 billion direct/private real estate investment vehicle.
Marc holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics and a Master of Science in Engineering, both from the University of Michigan. He also earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Computational Finance & Risk Management from the University of Washington. Marc is a CFA® charterholder.
